Mission Statement

To develop and provide sound natural resources management techniques for use by field technicians, community leaders, and the ordinary man and woman so as to ensure the realization of sustainable land management down to the smallest social groups in our communities.

Following extensive research, analysis and feasibility studies into how poverty and want were creeping into farmer’s livelihoods, regardless of agriculture being widely practised throughout Zimbabwe in particular and the rest of the world in general, it soon dawned on us, that the chief culprit at the epicenter of this anomaly was the method in use.
That realization then gave birth to Zimconserve, which brought to the fore advocacy and promotion of permaculture, as the sustainable alternative to the highly-touted, yet misnamed “conational” agriculture, that rely heavily upon the application of chemical based fertilizers, that have proven detrimental to soil structure and the environment, in the year 2012.
Permaculture:- permanent culture in fall, being premised upon organic farming, which bodes well with the natural eco-systems, therefore adds a feather in our cap to our clarion call to the farmers both seasoned and emerging ones to snub the latter method and revert to the age old practice instead for the good of the present and future generations. Moreover this project is in sync with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Zero Hunger, Health Well-Being, and Environment Synthetic fertilizers have been known to leave behind, toxic traces in the soils and in the crops ending up in human bodies through food consumption little wonder mankind today gets afflicted by curious ailments unlike in the past. In any event, these fertilizers do not come cheap, literally.
In the short to medium term, Zimconserve has been focusing and directing its energies towards fish farming initiatives in surrounding schools by way of building fish ponds and stocking them with fingerlings.
This project was received well by the Ministry of Education whose newly introduced curriculum inclines a great deal in vocational and technical studies
Next in line is the setting up of a Permculture resource center at Chipere Village Seke rural .Together with increasing visibility through the four corners of the country, this center is our long term objective.
Like most rural areas in Zimbabwe ,Seke rural is home to low levels of education and poverty .There couldn’t be a worse location for permaculture .This proposed center is meant to redress the situation for the better . These disadvantaged and downtrodden, will be taught how best to draw benefits from mushroom farming, fish farming and agro-forestry among others.
Enough nutritious food, shall become available as well as revenue generation as a result of this project. Permaculture does not demand much in terms of input costs; its biggest edge.

Program Details

A proposed permaculture resource center at Chipere village, Seke rural is our current project.
Located 40km eastwards of the capital Harare and a stone throw from Chitungwiza –a sprawling dormitory town, Chipere village is home to a disadvantaged folk.
The setting up of this center shall pave way for our objectives and give rise to the appreciation of permaculture as the way to go: frugal and sustainable.
And thus shall we see substantial improvement in the livelihoods and well being of this marginalized people
To that end, we are currently mobilizing recourses both financial and material to kick start the project.
