The Honnold Foundation promotes solar energy for a more equitable world.

Description

The Honnold Foundation was started by professional climber Alex Honnold, who wanted to reduce his environmental impact beyond small personal lifestyle changes. HF partners with nonprofits around the world who are using solar in their communities. We also engage in storytelling to promote the work of our nonprofit partners and share their work with a larger audience.

Program Details

Some of our current projects include: working with the organization Casa Pueblo in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico to create a community-owned microgrid, supporting the North End Woodward Community Coalition in Detroit, MI to install solar on ten homes, and continuing our support for GRID Alternitives, an organization that installs solar on low income homes across the United States.
