The Eden Projects

Mission Statement

Eden Reforestation projects reduces extreme poverty and restores healthy forests by employing local villagers to plant millions of trees every year.

Eden Reforestation Projects (Eden) is a 501(c)3 international nonprofit that is committed to alleviating extreme poverty and restoring healthy forests in Madagascar, Haiti, Mozambique, Nepal, Kenya and Indonesia. Through our “Employ to Plant” methodology local villagers are employed to produce, plant, and guard an average of 4 million additional trees every month. Since Eden’s launch in 2005, over 260 million trees have been planted and the lives of our 3,500 village employees are being transformed. Our international employees who once suffered from extreme poverty are sending their children to school, are able to afford good food and medical care, are being freed from debt, labor and sex slavery, and are experiencing sustainable farming and fishing as their land, villages and local economies are restored to health.
