The Carbon Literacy Trust

The Carbon Literacy Trust works to generate a low carbon culture through the dissemination of Carbon Literacy.
Carbon Literacy is “An awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.” The Project certifies individuals as Carbon Literate, at scale, after a days worth of study, delivered peer to peer, to everyone who lives, works or studies in a community or organisation. Founded in 2012 in Manchester in the UK, it is a world first project , recognised as a Transformative Action Project at COP Paris 2015, and working across the UK and Europe.
