Program Details

Lending - Slow Money SLO aims to spark a range of investment conversations, helping develop unique funding relationships for sustainable food and farming businesses. We work with food business owners who have a great brand and customer base and are looking for financial support in order to grow. We introduce them to local investors who want to assist, while also helping them prepare their plans and financial projections.
Mentorship - Our nonprofit seeks to help entrepreneurs build resilience and sustainability, which is why mentoring is free of charge! We and our community partners in community business development offer guidance and coaching in critical areas such as billing, financial management, and cash flow projections that help new and growing businesses.
Advocacy - An important tenant of Slow Money is the support of local, small farms and food businesses. This may include beverage, ranch, fishery, and value-added food production businesses. As a companion movement to Slow Food, which advocates for eating local, Slow Money wants to provide the business and financial support that helps our local food system thrive. Slow Money SLO advocates for consumers and institutions to buy and consume local food both for the health benefits as well as the food system development benefits.
Farm to School Central Coast - Farm to School is connecting school dinning services with local farms. Slow Money SLO has partnered with school districts throughout the Central Coast to bring the area's bounty to our kids.
