International Viticulture and Enology Society (IVES)

Mission Statement

The International Viticulture and Enology Society (IVES) is an academic association dedicated to viticulture and enology. Founded in 2017 by a group of leading universities and research institutes, it aims to make the results of scientific research in this field freely available for researchers and professionals (100% open access publishing online).

IVES publishes OENO One, a vine and wine online open access peer-reviewed research journal launched in 2016 and IVES Technical Reviews – Vine and Wine (2019, starting soon). Topics investigated by its journals: climate change adaptation, pesticides and wine chemical inputs reduction, among a broad range of areas in viticulture and oenology.
IVES model; 100% open access publishing online, is environmental friendly by suppressing the huge impact that traditional edition has (mostly printing and transports) in terms of pollution (ink, paper production, printing, glueing, packing etc.) and CO2 emissions (transport). It is also fair, giving access for free to all the content published.
Via IVES Technical Reviews, IVES will soon provide robust scientific information for professionnels (and the general public) in order to encourage dry farming, organic farming, environmental friendly adaptations to climate change, pesticides and wine chemical inputs reduction, use of emerging technologies etc. The articles of this journal will be published in 6 languages: English, German, Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese, for the purpose of ensuring a good dissemination of the information to the vine and wine professionals all around the world.
