Mission Statement

The Fraser Valley Conservancy is a regional land trust committed to placing lands in trust for our future.

Description

The Fraser Valley Conservancy (FVC) was incorporated in 1998 as a provincial not-for-profit society as well as a federally registered charity.
The FVC’s purpose is to:
  • protect and preserve land and watercourses that have recognized local and regional ecological and/or historical value
  • promote, facilitate and engage in land stewardship activities
  • protect preserve and enhance habitat for native species including rare and endangered species
  • as well as, protect and preserve land of recognized local and regional historic value.

Program Details

The FVC is the only local land trust in the Fraser Valley and currently holds title to and manages five properties, the majority of which provide habitat for species at risk.
The FVC is also delivers science-based stewardship initiatives including Nature Stewards, Precious Frog, the Ryder Lake Toad Tunnel, and our newest Owl Nest Boxes program. These programs engage volunteers and citizens in on-the-ground conservation project work - creating important habitat for wildlife.
