Ecology in Classrooms and Outdoors (ECO) inspires kids to connect to nature now, in order to create the environmental stewards of tomorrow. ECO brings a series of hands-on ecology activities into elementary school classes, and gets kids outdoors in their community to explore the nature of the Pacific Northwest. Through ECO programs, the study of nature becomes a part of a school's culture of learning. All activities are aligned with education standards, and are offered during the school day at no cost to the students - making ECO programs equitable. And as the students get into third, fourth, and fifth grade, ECO programs provide students a chance to give back to their ecological and social communities through environmental service-learning projects, like creating rain gardens, removing invasive species, planting native plants and more.
