EcoHealth Alliance leads cutting-edge scientific research into the critical connections between human and wildlife health and delicate ecosystems. With this science, we develop solutions that prevent pandemics and promote conservation.
Building on over 45+ years of groundbreaking science, EcoHealth Alliance is a global environmental health nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting wildlife and public health from the emergence of disease.
EcoHealth Alliance has four major programs:
Alternative Deforestation- Characterizing the connection between deforestation and the effects it has on biodiversity, disease prevalence, and human and animal health to promote better land-use practices among corporations and key stakeholders.
Regulating Wildlife Trade- Leveraging our research and data on the damaging health and conservation impacts of illegal wildlife trade to promote awareness and effect policy change.
Pandemic Prevention- Stopping pandemics before they begin by a) identifying when, where and how pandemics emerge; b) identifying high-risk behaviors and promoting safer practices locally and globally; c) leveraging these health-related programs to benefit conservation.
Biosurvelance- Developing technology and on-the-ground studies that collect, analyze, and disseminate disease data to aid in disease detection, response, and prevention.
