Bike Works

Mission Statement

Bike Works promotes the bicycle as a vehicle for change to empower youth and build resilient communities.

Since 1996, Bike Works has worked to expand access to bicycles, build community, and help people learn new skills. The social enterprise bike shop in Columbia City sells new and used bikes, parts, and accessories at afforable prices and offers repairs at reasonable rates. The recycle and reuse program diverts 6,000 to 8,000 bikes every year from the waste stream, giving old bikes new life. Bike repair classes and volunteer opportunities teach thousands of youth and adults bike mechanic skills and bike riding camps and clubs offer young people opportunities to make new friends and connect with the outdoors in an inclusive, supportive envirnoment. Bike giveaways and free bike repair increases access for those typically excluded from the cycling community. Our vision is : mobilized people. Thriving communities. Healthy planet.
