Our Mission is to activate volunteers to help charitable causes in our local community. Activate Good works as a "force multiplier" for local causes with volunteer needs, including local Environmental causes. Through our outreach efforts and online volunteer community, we help recruit and connect individuals, groups, and companies to fulfill volunteer needs with partnering nonprofits in the Triangle area, North Carolina. Activate Good also empowers the next generation of young volunteers and community leaders through our Activate Schools initiative by offering an elective leadership and service class in participating local high schools.
Funding for Activate Good will support environmental causes in two ways:
1. Activate Good will utilize funding to support ongoing volunteer connection efforts and days of service that serve nonprofit partners in our community that focus on environmental issues, including organizations like Farmer Foodshare, Toxic Free NC, The Scrap Exchange, Keep Durham Beautiful, EarthShare NC, 86it Anti-Litter Campaign, Durham Public School Hub Farm, Operation Seed to Harvest, Conservation Trust for NC, Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association, Triangle Land Conservancy, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, NC Green Power, Clean Jordan Lake, Raleigh City Farm, SEEDS, and more.
2. Activate Good will utilize funding to support service projects with specific environmental themes and outcomes, such as projects like building recycling or composting structures at local schools, community gardening, litter clean ups, and more during our big days of service including Earth Day, National Volunteer Week / Earth Day, Teen Volunteer Day, the 9/11 Day of Service, and Family Volunteer Day.
