Olaunu is a small environmental consulting firm based in San Clemente, California focused on stormwater and water resources management, coastal zone management, and environmental science with the objectives of improving water quality in the ocean and waterways, improving water resources and access to clean water, and protection of the natural environment. Olaunu uses its experience, innovative technologies, education and outreach, and a collaborative approach to help achieve these objectives. The Olaunu mission is to protect the ocean, waterways, and the environment by preserving and restoring their natural functions in a sustainable manner through science-based approaches, environmental education, innovative technologies, and effective solutions. Olaunu’s areas of specialization include Low Impact Development (LID) and green infrastructure including planning, design, implementation, inspection, maintenance, training, and development of codes and regulations related to bioretention systems, permeable pavements, LID retrofits, green streets green roofs, and stormwater capture and use systems; municipal stormwater management including Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) compliance, stormwater training, stormwater program development, municipal plan check, inspections, permit applications and negotiations, and municipal code updates; watershed planning including watershed management plans, identification and prioritization of locations for watershed control measures, hydrologic and pollutant load modeling, hydromodification management, TMDL development and compliance, public outreach, and integrated water resources management; stormwater compliance for land development including development of Water Quality Management Plans (WQMPs) and Standard Urban Stormwater Management Plans (SUSMPs), LID site planning and design, LID BMP design, hydomodification controls, BMP construction oversight, and BMP operation and maintenance plans; construction stormwater management including Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), sediment and erosion controls, construction site inspections, and construction stormwater training.
